hey, I don’t make the rules

just kidding, yes I do.

let’s talk bookings & cancellations

All appointments are booked 100% online through Mangomint—it's my virtual assistant, helping me stay focused on you in the chair.

To book, a non-refundable 50% deposit is required. This goes toward your service, with the remaining balance due at your appointment.

Your appointment time is reserved just for you. I know life happens, and I try to be flexible, but last-minute changes affect multiple people. If you need to cancel or reschedule, I ask for at least 48 hours notice. Changes within this period will be charged the remaining balance (100% of the service). If payment fails and isn’t settled within 24 hours, you won’t be able to book again.

No-call/no-shows will be charged in full and blocked from future appointments.

On rare occasions, I may need to reschedule. If that happens, I’ll give you as much notice as possible and rebook appointments in the order they were originally scheduled.

managing your appointment

Mangomint will send confirmation texts and emails three days before your appointment, giving you 24 hours to make changes. Please don’t opt out—missing these notifications could mean losing your chance to reschedule without penalty.

The easiest way to manage your appointment is through Mangomint. You can reschedule through your confirmation emails and texts. Please do not opt out of these notifications.

While you can reschedule on your own through Mangomint, cancellations must be made by call or text. Facebook and Instagram messages do not count and won’t be honored. Cancellations within the required timeframe are subject to the policy above.

If you don’t receive confirmation of a change, your appointment was not rescheduled or canceled. Also, adding yourself to the waitlist does not replace your existing appointment.

lateness

I take pride in running on time, and I want to give every client the full attention they deserve—including you! The Waxing Poetic is a squeeze-free studio, so I won’t run late for others to fit you in.

Please plan ahead for travel and any unexpected delays. If you’re more than 5 minutes late, it will be considered a same-day cancellation, and the proper fee will apply unless my schedule allows.

payment & gratuity

Credit cards are the preferred payment method since I don’t keep enough cash on hand for change. If paying in cash, please bring exact change.

Gratuity is never expected but always appreciated—especially in cash. Your support truly means the world to me! 💛

gift cards

Gift cards purchased after September 2024 do not expire and cannot be redeemed for cash.

refunds

Deposits are non-refundable, but may be transferred to a rescheduled appointment if changed outside the penalty period.

All completed services are non-refundable.

the waitlist

The waitlist is a great way to nab a last minute opening. However, adding yourself to it does not reschedule your existing appointment.  If you miss your scheduled appointment while hoping for a waitlist opening, cancellation and no-show fees will apply.

inclement weather

Snow day closures will be called the day of forecasted weather. If the shop closes, all appointments will be contacted and rescheduled. If the shop opens, you will be given the choice to reschedule with no penalty. Appointments that choose to reschedule will be moved to my earliest availability within normal business hours.

If you choose to simply cancel your appointment without rescheduling, same day cancellation fees will apply.

FAQs

Where is the studio located?

The studio is located in Pine Bush, NY. A quirky small town located at the base of the Shawangunk Mountains. There’s not much to do here, but I can promise you that your brows will be out of this world (iykyk).

I’m a new client, what should I book?

Firstly, I’m so happy you found me! I suggest that all new clients start with the clean brow. It’s the perfect amount of time for me to get a good look at your brows and discuss what the best plan of action would be to help you reach your brow goals.

Please be sure to have at least 4 weeks of uninterrupted hair growth before your appointment. Tweezing your brows within a week of your appointment wastes your time (and money) and mine— so please, let ‘em grow!

Can I bring my kids?

Due to the nature of the service, sharp corners, & chemicals present, young children are not permitted at the studio.

Will my brows be crunchy after a lamination?

Not a chance! Well, a small chance. Laminations do require some maintenance, so if you do nothing, you do risk your brows potentially becoming brittle and breaking, but fear not— the aftercare isn’t hard.

What is the difference between the natural and defined brows?

The intensity of the color and therefore the duration it lasts. The natural brow is lighter and less opaque. The defined brow is much bolder with an opacity reminiscent of Dipbrow. If you don’t know what any of that means, book the clean brow and we can chat at your appointment.
